Project Description

Three-tiered approach

1st Tier: Higher-Level Relationships*

Goal: Establish robust framework for deep relationships.

75 taxa sampled for morphology and ~23 kb of DNA sequence data (complete mitochondrial genomes & several nuclear genes).

2nd Tier: Superfamily & Family Relationships

Goal: Establish relationships among superfamilies.

300 taxa sampled for morphology and ~11.8 kb of DNA sequence data (nuclear & mitochondrial).

3rd Tier: Tribe & Subfamily Relationships

Goal: Establish relationships among tribes and subfamilies.

~3000 species sampled for ~1.5 kb of DNA sequence data, and select taxa scored for morphology.
